The Commercial Director is ultimately responsible for developing, implementing and realizing the company's commercial strategy. The position manages the Sales, Marketing, Animal Research and Product Management (PM) departments and ensures that they work together optimally to increase sales growth, market position and customer satisfaction. The Commercial Director reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities
Commercial strategy & business development
- Develop and realize a forward-looking commercial strategy.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs and competition to identify growth opportunities.
- Translate strategic goals into concrete commercial plans and targets.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Directs and supports Sales, Marketing, Animal Research and Product Management.
- Ensures synergy between market needs, product development and commercial execution.
- Coaches and develops commercial teams for optimal performance and utilization of potential.
- Builds strong teams, improves processes and promotes a performance-oriented culture.
Market & Customer Focus:
- Analyzes market trends, competition and customer needs (global).
- Drives innovation from customer and market feedback through close collaboration with Animal Research and PM.
- Initiates propositions that are valuable in both European and non-European markets.
International coordination:
- Responsible for commercial policy and performance across all sites.
- Coordinates local sales and marketing activities and secures alignment with head office.
- Periodically visits foreign branches and key accounts.
Product Strategy & Innovation:
- Responsible for commercial policy and performance in international branches.
- Coordinates local sales and marketing activities and ensures alignment with head office.
- Periodically visits foreign branches and key accounts.
Relationship Management & Partnerships:
- Maintains relationships with strategic customers, distributors and partners.
- Represents the company at international trade shows, events and with key accounts.
Budgeting & Reporting:
- Establishes and monitors commercial budgets.
- Reports periodically to the MT on performance, forecasts and strategic progress.
KPIs.
- Revenue growth
Growth in total sales year-over-year, broken down by region and product line.
- Gross margin:
Percentage margin on total sales to evaluate commercial effectiveness.
- Market share:
Growth of market share in core markets based on market research.
- Pipeline quality & conversion rate:
Value, completeness and effectiveness of commercial pipeline.
- Customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT):
Score on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty.
- Time-to-Market of new products:
Lead time from development to launch.
Reports
- Weekly reporting to CEO and divisions.
- In case of deviations report directly to CEO
- Monthly reporting to the MT
