Lighting the Future of Farming Together: Our Collaboration with Elías Equipamientos Ganaderos

Written by Laetitia Cerqueira | May 9, 2025 7:13:17 AM

Since 2021, we've proudly partnered with Elías Equipamientos Ganaderos, a leading name in livestock solutions in southern Spain - El Saucejo (Sevilla). With deep roots in the region and a growing reputation for quality, Elías has been lighting the way for swine and poultry farmers—now with HATO lighting by their side.

From Ferreteria to Forward-Thinking Farming

Elías Equipamientos began its journey in 2005 with Ferreteria Elías, initially focused on selling general farm supplies and hardware. However, growing demand in the poultry and swine sectors prompted the launch of ELÍAS EQUIPAMIENTOS GANADEROS in 2019. Their specialization in installations, farm maintenance, and technical support has quickly made them a trusted name throughout Andalusia.

Where once the company had to proactively seek out new clients, today it’s the other way around—farmers now reach out directly to them. In 2023 alone, the company saw a financial profitability increase of 30.57% and is set to tackle 21 new projects in 2024. With a dedicated team of 32 employees, Elías Equipamientos continues to grow, evolve, and exceed expectations.

The Power of Partnership: HATO & Elías

Before working with HATO, Elías Equipamientos primarily installed fluorescent and conventional lighting in poultry facilities. These outdated systems lacked replacements and efficiency.

The decision to transition to a more advanced lighting solution came at the request of a customer who was seeking something better.

That’s when HATO entered the picture

Over the past five years, Elías had explored new lighting technologies and suppliers. But once they discovered HATO, they committed fully—choosing to work exclusively with our solutions. The response from their team has been overwhelmingly positive, with strong appreciation for the durability, installation ease, and overall performance of our products.

In a competitive market like Andalusia, staying current with innovation is crucial. Our partnership reflects a shared mission: to support farmers with smarter, simpler, and future-ready lighting.

Carlos Gago: A Champion of Innovation & Education

A key player in this partnership is Carlos Gago, an engineer of the techical departament who has been with Elías for five years. With a background in agricultural education, Carlos brings a teacher’s passion for learning and training to his work. His interest in HATO’s product range and installation methods fuels his desire to keep growing.

Carlos is particularly driven by the goal of improving farmers' lives—not just through quality lighting, but through knowledge. Together with Oscar Lucas - techical director of facilities, they believes that empowering farmers with the right information helps them make better decisions and ultimately leads to more successful operations.

Lighting Up Andalusia: A Price-Sensitive but Results-Driven Market

Andalusia is known for being a price-driven market. While affordability matters, results ultimately win.

Customers often begin by questioning prices and scrutinizing quotes. But after seeing the impact of our lighting in real-world installations, they return asking for more.

In this region, veterinarians also play a key role in introducing new technologies and validating product performance. With the ongoing shift from fluorescent to LED lighting, HATO is positioned to lead the way.

Growth, Challenges & New Frontiers

The momentum is strong. Satisfied clients are recommending HATO solutions to their networks, and the initial Procavi installations have inspired plans to expand into more facilities.

One area ripe for growth is pig farming. It’s a sector that has traditionally been slow to adopt new technologies. With our support, Elías is preparing to tackle this challenge head-on.

Their next step: conduct a pilot installation for customers, offering proof of concept and showing what’s possible when innovation meets experience.

We know change takes time—especially when it means replacing older systems. But we believe in leading by example. Together with Elías Equipamientos, we’re not just replacing lights; we’re building a brighter, more sustainable future for livestock farming in Spain.

Because at HATO, improving life through brightness isn’t just a tagline—it’s a promise.
