HATO UV Standard
Standard, direct power for LED UV insect light traps involves connecting the device's LEDs to a constant current driver that converts AC line voltage into the specific, regulated DC voltage required for consistent ultraviolet output.
Magnetic Ballasts
For traps utilising magnetic ballasts, standard power involves an electromagnetic inductor that limits the current and provides the necessary high-voltage kick to ionise the gas in traditional fluorescent UV tubes, rather than directly driving LEDs.
High Frequency
High-frequency ballasts use electronic circuitry to convert standard 50/60 Hz power into high-frequency oscillations (typically above 20 kHz), which allows the UV lamp to operate more efficiently, eliminate visible flicker, and extend the life of the tube.
