HATO Agricultural Lighting is one of the world's major producers of agricultural lighting solutions. We owe our leading position to our innovation, knowledge of the latest technologies, as well as a strong commitment to the agricultural sector. We have held our leading position for more than 40 years thanks to the innovative and cost-efficient solutions we supply to the agricultural sector. 

CEO Paul Obers emphasises the importance of innovation, which is the key to success for HATO Agricultural Lighting. "It is our ambition to apply lighting solutions in different circumstances, to create an optimal light climate while guaranteeing animal welfare. This can only be achieved by continuous and clever innovation."

 A correct light climate is an essential aspect of good housing equipment.  For more than 40 years, we have provided innovative lighting solutions which focus on animal welfare and performance. Our engineers are able to use solid scientific research to answer the needs of the agricultural market. This is how we develop lamps for specific animals and applications.

2017

HATO new office coming soon

HATO is branching out yet again. The building beside the former main office is being renovated, increasing the total area to 3800 m2. This expansion was a logical response to the growth in new international business and in the number of personnel.

2014

HATO 40 years

HATO celebrated its 40th anniversary.

2012

LED's the future

In 2012, HATO introduced a new LED product line for the agricultural sector.

2008

HATO Lighting Solutions

In 2008, the HATO Lighting Solutions department was set up in answer to the growing demand for customised solutions.

2000

UNI-Q

In 2000, HATO added the Uni-Q line to its range of proprietary brands.

1999

Moving to Sittard

In 1999, the company moved to Sittard where it is still located today.

1997

Welcome Paul Obers

In 1997, Paul Obers, director and owner, joined the company as partner. Mr Obers started off as a seasonal worker with the company in 1982.

1995

Expanding business

In 1995, HATO began to develop a revolutionary fitting for the ANWB, the Royal Dutch Touring Club. In 1996, HATO acquired Industrial Tube Lighting (ITL).  The main focus of this company was the poultry industry. Afterwards, HATO moved to Slootsekuilen in Beringe (NL).

1981

Mushroom lighting

In 1981, HATO extended its portfolio with solutions for the mushroom sector.

1974

Where it al started

In 1974, HATO was founded in Tegelen, in the Netherlands. Founders Hay Roodbeen and Ton Elsenberg lent their names to the company and delivered cables and fittings to the agricultural sector.
